TEST DRIVE MEME

PREMISE PLOT ARRIVAL SETTING NAVIGATION

01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!

You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.

Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.

02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. From the pastoral villages or bustling, grand cities of Shousal to the massive, sprawling bureaucratic centers of the Empire, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures and races to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking empoyment, answers to the mystery of their arrival, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

Yeah. I thought it was just what I was wearing, but...

[braavado]

What do you think's going on? I just woke up here!

[Korra flings her hand out expressively.] I'm pretty sure I haven't done anything to make them mad.

[highflights]

Me neither.

[ she blows out a long breath. ]

I don't even see any kidnappers around. Whoever brought us here... just left us. Maybe it was an accident.

[braavado]

Kidnappers? [Korra frowns. While being kidnapped isn't exactly new to her, this doesn't seem quite right.]

Hey, what's the last thing you remember before you woke up here?

[highflights]

I was in my apartment, hanging out with my sister. After she left I was clearing up and [ gesturing ] poof. This weird tear opens up and I'm here.

[braavado]

Hey, that's what happened with me, too. The tear...thing just appeared while I was out with Naga, and then the next thing I know, I'm waking up here.

[She raises her brows.]

You really think someone here's behind that? If I didn't know any better, it'd sound sort of like...something spirity's going on.

[highflights]

Well, giant doorways to other dimensions don't just open up every other day.

[ She raises her eyebrows. ]

What kind of spirity?

[braavado]

Spirity...like the spirits from the Spirit World.

[Korra cups her chin in thought.]

I've heard that weird things can happen when you anger the spirits, but I don't think I've unbalanced nature or anything like that. I mean, that's just what I've heard. I've never actually talked to a spirit before...

[highflights]

[ spirit..... world??????? hrrrrf ]

It's a better theory than mine, anyway. Unless we both... somehow angered a spirit.

[braavado]

Probably not too likely. What was your theory?

[Even though Korra's considered the spirits before, she knows it doesn't exactly match up with what she's heard. It wouldn't hurt to hear what Kara's thoughts on it anyway.]

[highflights]

That this is another dimension from our own. It's going to take a massive amount of energy to open up the tears again so we can go back.

[braavado]

Another...dimension? [Her brows draw together in confusion.]

What do you mean by that?

[highflights]

[ Like the Phantom Zone, but that never meant anything to anyone who wasn't Kryptonian. ]

I mean, a world completely different from ours, usually unconnected. Something happened, like that rift that brought us here.

[braavado]

So, it's a ...different kind of different world? [She makes a face as soon as the words are out. What a mouthful.]

That sounds really complicated. Uh, how much energy are we talking about here, anyway? If we want to open that tear up again.

[highflights]

Yeah.

[ She mirrors Korra's expression. ]

I have no idea, sorry. I don't have anything on me that could measure an anomaly like that.

[braavado]

That's okay. [Though Korra looks a little crestfallen, she just offers Kara a small shrug in return.]

It's not like you planned on getting dumped here like the rest of us. Oh, hey. [Korra pauses.] Did you see anyone else when you woke up?

[highflights]

No. There were footprints, so maybe there was someone there before me.

[braavado]

Maybe. When I woke up, there were a few others there with me. They wanted to go up toward the mountains, though. [Korra points up helpfully.] Naga and I followed the stream for a while, and we ended up here.

[Korra sighs now, throwing a stray stick into the fire.] I realized after we all split up, that maybe we should've tried to stay together.
