TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME
PREMISE PLOT ARRIVAL SETTING NAVIGATION

01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!

You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.

Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.

02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. From the pastoral villages or bustling, grand cities of Shousal to the massive, sprawling bureaucratic centers of the Empire, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures and races to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking empoyment, answers to the mystery of their arrival, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

It wasn't until he was diving into a small hedge of tall weeds and bushes that he registered the laughter. Snake remained absolutely still, his heart beating fast with familiar adrenaline from the rush of a potential fight. He calmed himself down immediately as the laughter continued and Snake couldn't help feeling a little disappointed that he wasn't getting punched in the face yet by the stranger.

He moved himself up onto the balls of his feet, crouched as small as he could compact himself in the cover, so that he could peek out at the laughing man. Snake had no idea what had been funny. He lifted his head an inch higher to look back at his box and the surrounding area. No, there was no dropped equipment and the box was nearly pristine and still completely viable.

Snake decided to wait here until the man left so that he could retrieve that box. It was a really good box.

That's pretty much a first!

When he was done laughing, he leaned a little, kicking the edge and corners of the box in question. Seeming to inspect it for quality, durability...

He leaned down from the horse and hauled it up. Put it in his lap, apparently determined to take it with him, wherever he was off to.

You fine bastard. Things were getting serious now. This man was obviously highly capable and potentially of exceptional intellect. Not only had he noticed Snake in the box, but he saw the value of the box itself.

However, it had been hard to find a box of just the right size and caliber and now this adversary was taking it for his own. It was logical of course, Snake couldn't fault him for it, but still - that was his box. Besides, he really wanted to see if all that muscle was just for show or if the man knew how to fight. Snake was a soldier without a war, he was itching for a fight.

But not with a gun. His were tidily holstered, as he planned to use nothing but his fists and body. Well, fist, as he was down one arm. That only made it more interesting. He popped up out of the weeds and took a few hurried steps before stopping, making just enough noise to catch the man's attention.

"Hey, drop it!"

"No," was the automatic response, rumbled out like the threat of thunder. Drogo didn't even look over his shoulder to address the speaker; he guessed who owned it based on where, behind him, it was coming from.

With a little whistle, the horse began to walk away.

The challenge would be met. Snake took in a quick breath and then dashed forward with all his speed. His combat boots were nearly silent, but all of his belts, straps, holsters and weapons made distinct clinking noises as he moved at such a speed. He ran straight for the back of the horse until nearly to it.

For all he knew the horse was combat trained and would kick at him, and so he avoided that by darting around to the side of it. His intention was to grab the stranger by the leg and pull him bodily off the horse, if it all possible. Even with only one arm, he was not just strong but tenacious as hell.
