TEST DRIVE MEME |
01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!
You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.
Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.
02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. From the pastoral villages or bustling, grand cities of Shousal to the massive, sprawling bureaucratic centers of the Empire, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures and races to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking empoyment, answers to the mystery of their arrival, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

B FOR BABY YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE
Another day, little one.
[ He smiles at Korra, amiably. ]
Come with me.
runs toward in slow mo
She eyes him while hope that she's found help and suspicion clash inside her. Suspicions wins out after a moment.] Why?
no subject
I have spoken with them since I arrived. They do not have the answers you seek.
no subject
Thanks for letting me know. [This time she turns back to Thor, her expression much friendlier than before.] I probably would've kept trying for days. [It takes a second for the rest of his words to register, and when they do, she perks up.] Wait--did you say you arrived here?
[She hopes that means what she thinks it does.]
no subject
[ He lowers his voice, steers her away from the mage, who looks distinctly cheerier for Thor having done so. ]
A month ago, myself and several others. It is not by accident, but by what design, we are making inquiries. It does not pay to speak plainly of where you might be from. We have enemies here.
no subject
Korra grudgingly goes along with Thor, but not before pointing at her eyes and pointing at the mage at the door in a classic "I've got my eye on you, buster" gesture.]
Whoa, wait a sec. [Now that she's actually listening to him, Korra has a lot to say about the information Thor's just given her.] You've been here a month? And why would we even have enemies? I just got here!
no subject
We were not brought here without purpose. There are those who seek our help, and so, there too will be those who seek our destruction.
no subject
[Korra gestures vaguely as she keeps pace with him.] So, what's the deal with the people who hate us?
no subject
[ It is a gentle correction. ]
Perhaps it may be merely because we are outsiders, and yet more may be wary of our power, but we know not what they want.
no subject
[She pauses a second later and perks up as she scans the trees around them.] Oh, hold up. I left Naga around here. [Putting her fingers to her lips, Korra whistles sharply. The polar bear dog comes barreling toward them before she even puts her hand back down.]
no subject
[ Oh distraction, what a delightful creature! Thor smiles brightly at Naga. ]
no subject
This is Naga. She got pulled into that tear along with me. Naga, this is--uhhh. [Korra bites her lip, looking sheepish.] Actually, I don't think I asked what your name was yet.
no subject
I am Thor, son of Odin. I hail from Asgard. And you, warrior?
no subject
I'm Korra... from the Southern Water Tribe. [At first, she'd hesitated when people asked her for her name, but relief came with the realization that no one here knew her. There are no expectations here to meet--or fail, as she's likely to do in this state.
One hand still resting on Naga's side, Korra looks at Thor.] So...you really think there's a reason why we're here?
no subject
[ No recognition of Asgard, that's hit and miss here. He blinks. ]
I have never heard of this Southern Water Tribe, perhaps you may tell me of it someday.
no subject
I still don't like that I'm trapped here, but that doesn't mean I can't be curious about other worlds. I mean, I never even knew so many existed before this.
no subject
That I will. Asgard is one of Nine, though there are many worlds scattered across the cosmos. None such as this.
no subject
[To someone who's only heard of one other world her whole life, the very idea is incredible.]
no subject
no subject
How does that even work? Is there a portal or--or do you have to meditate into those worlds somehow? How many have you been to?
[It's like the floodgates have opened, the questions pouring out of her swiftly in her excitement.]
no subject
[ Naga sits, and Thor's attentive scratches become slower, though no less careful. ]
I have been to many. Our realm keeps the peace between the others.
no subject
I wish it were that easy to travel between worlds back home. There's another world ours is connected to, but only a few people have ever managed to get there.
no subject
[ He raises his eyebrows. ]
What is it called, and why is it so hard to reach?
no subject
[She rubs at her neck, frowning.]
Anyway, only the most spiritual people can get there because you have to meditate into it or something like that. There's no physical way into that world.
