TEST DRIVE MEME

TEST DRIVE MEME
PREMISE PLOT ARRIVAL SETTING NAVIGATION

01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!

You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.

Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.

02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. From the lively, bustling markets of colorful Vairaya to the grimly efficient and stately mountain strongholds of Draichurith, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures and races to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking empoyment, answers to the mystery of their arrival, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

03. WILDCARD!

"We're in the middle of nowhere, with no weapons, my phone doesn't work in any way, shape or form, and we have no idea to what we're headed, and what's going to be there. Yep, of course I'm scared, you ass," Clary replies without missing a beat, not actually letting go of his hand.

She knows well enough this his arrogance is often a front, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

"Anything could hurt us, Jace. There could be - for all we know - there could be dragons!" She waves her free hand to the sky, knowing that'd be ridiculous. She actually chuckles to herself, shaking her head.

"Dragons," Jace scoffs. As if.

"Look around," he says, his shoulders back. "It looks like something out of an old book." Perhaps everyone else would say movie, but Jace is out of touch with popular culture to say the least.

"Exactly, something from an old book, so what's so improbable about dragons? Have you never read Pern?"

Oh, what even is she asking. Of course Jace wouldn't read fantasy, not when his entire world was fantasy already. He never needed the fairies and the dragons and the magic; he was living it from the get-go. Clary could have, too.

"Nevermind, don't answer that."

That makes Jace smirk a little more.

For a moment, they walk in near silence, taking in their surroundings. If only Jace had had a moment to draw new runes on his skin, he'd feel a lot better.

Of course, this is very quiet - almost alarmingly so.

It's hard for Clary not to roll her eyes at Jace and how smug he's being. Of course he's all taciturn, just giving her the barest possible when it comes to conversation - he never says one word too many, economical in his moves as much as he is in his words. It drives Clary a little crazy - it definitely makes her miss Simon, who would talk her ear off about this place and allows her to bounce ideas back and forth without dismissing them out of hand.

The silence, though, is eerie - it's incredibly quiet around here, and Clary finds reassurance in the fact that Jace hasn't extracted his hand from her grip. She's not fragile, but she knows that in any kind of combat, Jace is a lot more skilled than she is.

"D'you have your stele with you?" Clary asks after a while, her voice quiet.
