TEST DRIVE MEME |
01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!
You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.
Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.
02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most of them player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. Whether they're among the passionate, oft thought as hot-headed, but hospitable folk of the Banner or the noble and haughty people of the Empire, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures, races and simply people to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking employment, answers to the mystery of their arrival or other folk like themselves, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

03. WILDCARD!
piper wright / fallout 4
[ there's so much goddamn green around her. Not the chipped and painted walls of Diamond City or glare of neon signs on the ground but the vibrant green of living grass, and trees. Not the little potted thing she'd tried to keep in her office and promptly forgot about as she had a lot more on her mind at the time -- a big story, looking out for her sister.
This is nowhere that Piper is familiar with, she can tell that in almost an instant. Standing up, she brushes off her coat and looks around. Oh, sure she's definitely worried -- after all, she's only been reporting about the Institute for months now. Being a reporter of her standing (the only reporter of her standing, and that's not being boastful, it's just the truth as very few people are interested in telling the stories, keeping people updated and informed), she might as well have painted a large target on her back for them "kidnap and replace me, I'm onto you".
If that's what was really going on around here. People nearby weren't looking much happier than she felt, most wore the same lost and confused expression. ]
When I said I wanted to hit the road again, this isn't what I had in mind.
marketplace
[ Of course they wouldn't take caps here, it renders the entire pouch in her jacket useless -- thanks, oh foreign marketplace. Still, she's has a small amount of money from trading to browse and there are plenty of people to question so Piper doesn't think this will be a complete bust.
Half of the stuff people are selling are something straight out of a children's book -- mystic looking herbs and jewelry, swords and smaller blades but not a single gun in sight. This place has even less in the way of technology. She doesn't bother changing her clothes in an effort to blend in, with any luck she'll be out of here soon enough with a new story to report.
It's all going pretty smoothly until some bozo runs right into her without a word or slowing down, pulling with him the small pouch with her belongings and coin she carried. Like Hell, is she going to let him have her candy and cigarettes. Piper is suddenly pushing at people trying to catch up with him. ]
Hey! Get back here with those!

[ maybe you're her current
victiminterviewee, or tavern buddy. Go wild. ]hitting that tavern
...You too? [He says, offering her a tired, pursed-lipped smile from under the black hood of his sweather. He's been milling around the counter for a while, half-absently turning a glass of beer in his fingers ordered more for the familiarity of it than anything else. No coffee shop or library found along the way yet.
The black polish on his nails has begun to peel, pads of his fingers still stained with old blood. His sweater is too, a big blot camouflaged by his typical all-black ensemble.]
