TEST DRIVE MEME

01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!

You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.

Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.

02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. From the pastoral villages or bustling, grand cities of Shousal to the massive, sprawling bureaucratic centers of the Empire, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures and races to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking empoyment, answers to the mystery of their arrival, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

03. WILDCARD!

[ The big man she addressed didn't have the fine-robed look of city officials or magistrates. In fact, openly shirtless in summer, hair and beard cropped short and let to grow a little unkempt... he looked quite a lot like a thug of some kind. ]

Just kill the guard that finds you,

[ He suggested, matter-of-fact, almost all of his dark-eyed attention reserved not for Korra, but... the bear-dog. He watched it for a long few seconds more before adding, in a low and awed whisper, ]

It has tack! Do you... ride it?!

[At first, Korra's a little alarmed. To mention killing so casually must mean she should keep her eyes on him, right?

And then, his next words completely turns her opinion of him around. Though she doesn't let her guard down yet, some of her tension does melt away. Korra grins.]

Her name's Naga--and yeah, I ride her. It looks like polar bear dogs aren't really common around these parts.

[ He made a low whistle of admiration, shaking his head. ]

You must be fierce to stride such a beast... Like the Draichurithan soldiers, who ride dragons.

[ His own horse snorted as if to protest its own worth, and he distractedly rubbed its thick neck. ]

How many fish does it eat, in a day?

[While his praise definitely makes something in her preen, Korra just smiles at him, eyes a little sad.] Thanks. I did train a lot since I was really young, but Naga listens to me because we became friends when I found her as a pup.

[Her smile brightens after a second.] I lose count. She hunts her meals when she can, but I've had to bring her bucketfuls of fish before.

[ He jut his chin, thoughtfully stroking the dark mass of his short-shorn beard with the calloused pads of a few fingers, eyes still on the woman's mount. ]

So, you raised her? Did you also train her to ride?

Yup! [That Korra says with obvious pride.] It took a while for her to get used to the saddle, but it was worth the work.

My dad said no one else has ever tamed a polar bear dog before. [Korra beams.] Pretty cool, huh?
