TEST DRIVE MEME

PREMISE PLOT ARRIVAL SETTING NAVIGATION

01. ARRIVING IN PELEA
A cold wind singing down from the white-capped mountains which hang blue-black in the distance stirs your cheek, the tall grass all around you. A bough creaks as the wind makes it tremble, and the dappled shadows drift over you, leaves rustling. As you blink awake, you hear the quiet hiss of water over stones. You are not where you once were!

You and a large group of strangers are blinking awake, pulling yourselves up off the dirt, grass, and rubble near a small wooded stream. There is no evidence of civilization in sight, and as you exchange stories you realize that you must decide what to do.

Will you head past the trees and towards the mountains? Deeper into the forest? Stay put and wait for help to arrive? You might even try to meet everyone else, and either convince them to band together... or head their separate ways.

02. CITY SLICKER
There are many cities throughout the world of Pelea, and in most player characters, the Flaws, are welcomed as curiosities. From the pastoral villages or bustling, grand cities of Shousal to the massive, sprawling bureaucratic centers of the Empire, your characters will find a wide variety of cultures and races to interact with and investigate. They could be seeking empoyment, answers to the mystery of their arrival, or a quiet place to drink away their worries.

03. WILDCARD!

[Bucky just studies him for a moment or two, quizzical. He knows Thor is one of the Avengers, knows his face at least, but he hasn't ever met the other that he can recall. His memory is getting better these days, but even so. If Thor knew Bucky, he would have at least said something, right?

A beat, and he replies, truthfully enough:] Never ridden a horse in my life, fella. I'd probably be terrible at it.

[shockput]

[ Never? Unlikely in this world, horse riding, like swimming, is too useful a life skill not to know. ]

These roads are dangerous if you travel by foot, you will be at the mercy of beast and bandit. Where are you going?

[deadandred]

[A brief smile, and he shifts his weight a little, into more of a soldier's stance. (Or, perhaps, reminiscent of one Natasha Romanoff.) Good, more easy questions. He likes those.] I can handle myself with beast or bandit. I was lookin' for the nearest town, or at least some place they can tell me what the hell is goin' on.

[shockput]

[ The stance of a warrior, nonetheless, and Thor smiles in recognition of it. ]

You should not spread around how you arrived. They do not look kindly on those of us from other worlds.

[ He holds out his hand. A warrior begets a warrior's greeting: a grip to the forearm, which is what Bucky'll get should he hold out his own hand. ]

I am Thor, son of Odin.

[deadandred]

[A smile. Good. It's clear enough he's not going to be attacked right this moment, and after a slight pause, he responds in kind to Thor's greeting. (His own hand is the problem here, though, not heavy and metal like he's used to. It's still all very strange.)]

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind.

James Barnes, it's a pleasure. [Not Bucky. That's just for Steve, these days. Maybe others if they get close enough. He doesn't feel much like Bucky anymore, if he can even remember what Bucky felt like.]

[shockput]

[ Thor's grip is firm, not crushing. ]

The pleasure is mine, James. I am going to the village south of here, I would not mind a companion. Perhaps we may speak on the way.

[deadandred]

[Bucky's is too, still kind of sizing up the other man.]

...Yeah. You look kinda familiar, but I don't think we ever met.

[shockput]

I am known to many on earth as the god of thunder.

[ The smile widens. ]

Or perhaps you know me to be an Avenger.

[deadandred]

More the second one, yeah; though I gotta admit I'm kind of ....new to all this.

[shockput]

[ He reaches into his pack, and draws out a piece of bread, to break and share. ]

We were all brought here the same way, waking up in the forest. Were you alone?

[deadandred]

[He'll happily take some when it's offered. Super-soldiers are pretty much always hungry, so bread is definitely appreciated.]

As far as I could tell, yeah.

What do you remember, before coming here?

[deadandred]

[He shifts a little, uncomfortable suddenly -- but when has he ever been comfortable with his past?] Going back into cryo. Steve was there.
