The merchant makes a huffy, irritated noise at them both in return, turning away to care to his wares and other (clearly more profitable) customers. With more eyes on him now, Jack abandons his mission of relieving the merchant of as many trinkets as possible, instead furrowing his brow and taking in the beast of a man that has appeared near him.
"Bloody hell, mate, what's happened to you? Looks like you've swilled a whole jug of bilge-water and then some."
